Yes. Bridgewater Bank officially received its charter one bank license effective January 01, 2006. As a federally regulated financial institution, Bridgewater Bank is subject to the same regulatory requirements and compliance regime as all Canadian chartered banks.

December 31st. As a wholly owned subsidiary of a not for profit membership corporation, (Alberta Motor Association) Bridgewater Bank's financial results are not publicly disclosed.
How do I apply for a mortgage with Bridgewater Bank?
Contact one of the select brokers in your area by contacting your local Bridgewater Bank Business Development Manager, checking the Yellow Pages or using a search engine.
The application process will require that you provide information on your current financial status. This will include completion of a financial statement. Therefore, it is beneficial for you to gather documentation such as proof of income (pay stubs, income tax statement, letter of employment) and listing of your monthly payments such as car loans, credit cards, student loans, personal loans, etc.

AMA mortgages are available exclusively to AMA members through AMA Financial.
When will I receive my mortgage statement?
Mortgage statements are mailed out annually each February.
How will I know when it's time to renew my mortgage?
A renewal package, including new rates and payment amount will be mailed to you approximately 90 days prior to your mortgage renewal date. You may also receive a phone call to confirm your renewal options if we have not heard from you within 30 days of your renewal date.
If I sell my house and buy a new one, can I transfer my mortgage to the new property?
Yes, in most cases. Bridgewater Bank mortgages are portable subject to approval guidelines. Contact a customer care representative for more information at 1-888-837-2326.
Can I invest in a GIC deposit with Bridgewater Bank?
Yes. Bridgewater Bank offers Guaranteed Investment Certificates to AMA Members via an AMA Personal Account Manager or through a select deposit broker network. Please contact a customer care representative for more information at 1-888-837-2326.
Are my deposits insured by the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC)?
Yes. All GICs offered through Bridgewater Bank are eligible for CDIC insurance. See our deposit register for a complete listing of eligible deposit products.
Your rates are very competitive. Why is Bridgewater Bank able to offer better rates than many of the larger chartered banks?
Because Bridgewater Bank doesn't have to incur the expenses of maintaining and staffing costly physical branches. We are able to pass along that savings by way of more competitive rates for our customers.
